If you answered yes to all the points in the decision map, you have come here: To the end. If you have come here, it is reasonable that you teach about the controversial issue. 

Mind you: Just because you got to the end of the decision map doesn’t guarantee that your teaching will be conflict-free. Teaching about controversial issues involves a risk, something that you can never completely avoid. 

But this decision map will help you at least to highlight the pitfalls that specifically you may fall into when teaching controversial issues. Hopefully, therefore, you can now feel more prepared to carry out your teaching.
